Let’s be honest — doesn’t everyone deserve to win financially at least once in a while?
Just over three years ago, during one of my usual scrolls through Rightmove (a favourite pastime of mine), I noticed a trend that stopped me in my tracks. Property after property was being reduced in price — not just once, but often multiple times. It became painfully clear that thousands of pounds were being lost by ordinary homeowners, not because of the market, but because no one was telling them the truth about how their homes were being presented.
The reality is, empty homes lack warmth and emotional connection, while cluttered homes distract potential buyers from the space itself. Instead of seeing the potential, buyers end up focusing on belongings — and judging the property based on the current contents, not what it could be.
Having bought and sold a number of properties ourselves, we saw first-hand how little guidance was offered by most estate agents around presentation. Understandably, no one wants to offend, but in an industry where styling can directly influence sale price, this silence comes at a significant cost. Sellers deserve honesty, practical advice, and support to present their homes in a way that attracts the best buyers and the best offers.
And that’s where the idea for Love It To List It began.
We recognised a missing link in the property process. With our eye for interior styling, attention to detail, and strong organisational skills, we knew we could offer a solution that made a real difference, helping real people just like you and I sell quicker and achieve more from their sale.
The truth is, even small changes can have a big impact. A modest investment of around £500 for things such as fresh bedding, cushions, a few accessories, and a good de-clutter, this can mean the difference between a property lingering on the market with little interest and one that sells quickly, for thousands more.
Let’s put it into perspective. The average price for a 3-bed semi in the PR2 area of Preston sits between £200,000 and £240,000, with properties ranging anywhere from £145,000 to £365,000. A 10% price reduction on a home listed at £240,000 is a £24,000 drop — and let’s be honest, who wants to lose that?
So we founded Love It To List It, a business built on the belief that every home deserves to look its best, and every seller deserves to walk away with as much value as possible.
Why the name?
Because buyers don’t just purchase with logic, they buy with emotion. While price and location play a part, people fall in love with homes that feel lived-in, cared for, and inviting. If your home doesn’t look loved, if it lacks warmth or doesn’t reflect a desirable lifestyle, how can you expect someone else to fall in love with it?
Love It To List It is about showing your home the love it deserves, so that someone else can fall for it, just like you once did.
